“Christmas Around DeMotte” is a holiday celebration designed to bring businesses, shoppers, and residents together in the spirit of the season—and there’s something fun for everyone!
From December 5th through December 25th, businesses and homes across DeMotte will be decked out in their holiday best. Register your location to be included on our Holiday Map, so families can drive around town and enjoy dazzling displays and festive décor. Or, get in on the free Holiday Bus Tour sponsored by DeMotte State Bank.

4th Annual Business Christmas Decorating Contest
You do NOT need to be a Chamber member or retail business to participate. Dress up Christmas inside and/or outside of your business from December 5th – December 25th to be eligible to win a pizza party for your staff!

Decorate your business inside, outside, or both from December 5th–25th for a chance to win a pizza party for your staff! Make your storefront shine with lights, color, and holiday spirit—it’s the perfect way to attract shoppers and delight the community.

Judging & Prizes:
The Chamber Board of Directors will tour all entries during the contest—you don’t need to be present to win. The winning business will be announced January 2nd, and we’ll schedule your staff pizza party right after!
Extra Exposure:
We’ll feature all participating businesses on Facebook and tag you to help bring in more holiday traffic. Residents will also be decorating their homes, and you’re welcome to contribute a gift for the Grand Prize Residential Gift Basket—I’ll gladly stop by to pick it up.

To Be Announced
Registration is necessary to be included on the map and eligible to win the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize will be a basket of gifts from local businesses.
- Decorate the outside of your home or property. Your decorations must stay displayed (dates TBD).
- Providing your address will get you put on the map to have people drive by and admire your Christmas beauty! There will be a bus tour during the weekends of this event and the bus will follow the map we will have made up.
- Deadline to register your residence is to be determined. This gives us time to get the official map printed.
- The Chamber Board of Directors will be the judges during this Holiday event. You do not need to be present for your property to be judged.
We invite and encourage everyone to participate and promote this festive and fun tradition in-the-making!

DeMotte Holiday Home Bus Tours
The DeMotte Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Cup of Joy Cafe to bring Holiday bus tours to DeMotte. There will be three evenings to choose from. Bring your family, friends and coworkers and load the bus to tour Christmas lights around DeMotte.
This event is FREE this year, so it’s first-come, first-served. In an effort to give back to the community, we are asking that each registrant bring a non-perishable item to be donated to the Good Neighbor Food Pantry. You will leave these items at Cup of Joy and we will deliver them to the food pantry once the event is over. Give one or give 10 items, we just want to stock the shelves at the food pantry!
Registration is mandatory and space is limited to 15 people per time slot. State laws for car seats will be enforced. You must provide a car seat per child registered. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Breakfast & Selfies with Santa: Saturday, December 6th at the Connection Center from 9am-11am
- This is a free event to all.
- Santa will be on hand for selfies and holiday wishes. Be sure to bring your camera or cell phone!
- Free breakfast for all will be served.
- Free Holiday crafts and activities will be provided by these fine businesses:
- To be announced as they come in
- The parade route is from American Reformed Church parking lot across from DeMotte Elementary School and will proceed north to Spencer Park
- Parade Entrants: Be at American Reformed Church on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 4:00pm for line-up. The parade will commence around 4:15pm (CST)
- Open and free to any business, organization or resident/family. You MUST register to participate.
- Halleck St. will NOT be closed; however, police escort will take place.
- NO CANDY CAN BE THROWN. This is because the road is not closed and for the safety of everyone involved.
- CANDY AND GOODIES can be given at Spencer Park once we arrive following the downtown parade.
- Once at Spencer Park, the official tree lighting will take place near the basketball courts.
- Santa will be taking children’s Christmas gift requests at the band shell following the tree lighting.
- Businesses will be on hand with free goodies as well.
- Free refreshments will be served.
- Christmas Carols by the KVHS Choir
- Deadline to register for the parade is at noon on Saturday, November 29th.
2025 Christmas Parade Registration Form
Santa is visiting DeMotte on Saturday, November 30th. He, as well as other parade entries will be escorted to Spencer Park by a fire truck at approximately 4:00pm. An official tree lighting will take place and then Santa will be available to take all your Christmas wish lists!
Local businesses will be set up at Spencer Park to offer free Holiday refreshments while supplies last and the KVHS Choir will sing us all some of our favorite Holiday Christmas Carols.
This Holiday event will go from 4:00-5:00pm or until all the kids have seen Santa. We look forward to seeing you!
